He opposed styles of architecture such as the Neo-classic and Victorian, which were imperative at the end of the 19th century and always emphasized that a building’s design must be related to its function, surroundings and the materials used in its construction. “The Ennis House was the last of four homes my grandfather designed in this style,” says Eric Lloyd Wright. “The home is a culmination of sorts, imbued with his ambition and confidence.”
